Nogojiwanong/Peterborough Reconciliation Day
June 1 @ 9:30 am - 7:00 pm
You are invited to join the first annual Nogojiwanong/ Peterborough Reconciliation Gathering at Millennium Park. This event will provide an opportunity to explore Indigenous and non-Indigenous relationships in Canada and within our community. We hope that this will be one of many collective steps that we take to move us towards better relations.
The events for the day are as follows:
10:00- 2:00- Children (grades 5-8) will have the opportunity to participate in a child- appropriate Blanket Exercise in small groups, rotate through a series of educational information booths and hands-on activities. Participants will also experience drumming, dancing and Indigenous art. (Please note- programing will be focused on school and home school children during this time- but families with younger children are welcome to attend as well)
3:00- 7:00- Bring your friends and family! The general public is invited to attend a large, community Blanket Exercise, visit the information booths, and check-out some local vendors.
